City of Richmond

It’s SO easy to fall in love with Richmond. Our beloved RVA is rich in history, culture, and the arts, and the city’s districts and surrounding counties are just as eclectic. The city of Richmond, also known as the River City, is located at the Fall Line of the James River and is surrounded by Henrico County and Chesterfield County. The Richmond area is home to 8 Fortune 500 companies, including Genworth Financial, Dominion Resources, Altria, and WestRock.

Chesterfield County

Chesterfield County is part of the Greater Richmond Region and is located south of the city of Richmond. A good portion of the county closest to the city is known as Richmond’s “South Side.” There is much to do and see, including natural parks, historic treasures, and community events. Even more attractive for anyone looking for a place to live in the Richmond region are the many suburban properties located near great schools.

Henrico County

Henrico County is included in the Greater Richmond Region, and surrounds the City of Richmond to the west, the north, and the east. You’ll find the Chickahominy River to the north and the James River and Richmond to the south. The County of Henrico is divided into districts managed by the Board of Supervisors. The County Manager reports directly to the Board of Supervisors in the following districts: Brookland District, Fairfield District, Three Chopt District, Tuckahoe District, and Varina District. There are several communities within Henrico County, including: Glen Allen, Innsbrook, Lakeside, Sandston, Short Pump, Tuckahoe, and Wyndham.

Powhatan County

Powhatan is home to Pocahontas State Park and is just beautiful. The historic rural area is 20 miles west of Richmond and borders Chesterfield and Goochland counties. Powhatan communities include: Aston, Huguenot Hundred, Holly Hills, King William Woods, and Fine Creek Mill.
